Where to Register:
You can register to vote for federal, state, and local elections by mail; at your county, city, or township clerk’s office; or by visiting any Secretary of State Branch office. If you would like to register by mail, please complete the Voter Registration Form, click to download. If you live in the City of Greenville mail your form to the address below:

Registration Deadline:
You must register at least 30 days before the election. This gives the clerk time to process the forms and send you a Voter Identification Card. You must also re-register to vote whenever you move to a new city or township.
How to Register:
If you move within a city or township, you must update your address. This can be handled through your local clerk, at a Secretary of State Branch office, by mail, or at any other location where voter registrations are accepted.
Michigan voters must use the same residential address for voter registration and driver’s license purposes. Consequently, if you submit a driver’s license address change, it will be applied to your voter’s registration. Similarly, if you submit a voter registration address change, it will be applied to your driver’s license.

The City is divided into 4 Precincts. Precincts #1 and #4 vote at the Greenville Area Community Center. Precincts #2 and #3 vote at the Faith Baptist Church.

Poll Hours: 7:00am - 8:00 p.m. Every qualified elector present and in line at the polls at the hour prescribed for the closing thereof shall be allowed to vote.
Picture ID Requirement at Polls:
Beginning with the November 6, 2007 election, every Michigan voter who offers to vote at the polls must show picture identification or sign an affidavit attesting that he or she does not have picture identification with them before they are issued a ballot.

Voters who do not possess either of the above may show any of the following form of picture identification as long as they are current:
If a voter states the he or she does not have picture identification, the voter will be given an affidavit to sign. A ballot cannot be issued to the voter unless the voter displays picture ID or signs the affidavit.
Please note that picture identification only applies to those who vote in the polls on Election Day. Voters who apply for an absent voter ballot are not required to provide photo identification. Absent Voter Ballots:

Local Petitions:
City elections are held in November of each year. Someone wishing to run for City Council person can obtain the petition packets in March of each year and it needs to be filled out and returned in May. A minimum of fifty (50) valid signatures on petition forms are required. All candidates must also submit a completed Affidavit of Identity Form to the City Clerks Office.
