The public safety officers are committed to creating various programs and enforcing regulations designed to help you enjoy a safe and prosperous lifestyle in our community. The members of the Public Safety Department pride themselves on being both friendly and while addressing the safety and concerns of our citizens.

The Public Safety Department provides police and fire protection for the City of Greenville and surrounding area.  The department maintains a very active training and education program. Consideration is placed on efficient and effective public safety responsibilities performed in all areas of prevention, protection, and service.

Greenville is known as a wonderful place to live, work, and raise a family. The city is well known for its excellent schools, churches, business area, and the quality of life it can provide.

The Greenville Public Safety Department Director of Public Safety oversees 16 full time cross trained police and fire officers, 17 volunteer firefighters, 4 police reserve officers, 5 bike patrol officers, several crossing guards, and administrative staff.  It is everyone's goal to maintain a high quality personal and professional service to the residents of our community at all times.
