The City of Greenville Public Services Department (DPS) is a full service, local government agency providing operation and maintenance for a variety of public utilities and facilities.  The areas of responsibility for the DPS include:  the Drinking Water System, the Wastewater Collection System, Major and Local Streets System, Parks and Cemetery, and City Motor Pool.  In addition to our O&M services, the DPS provides bagged and loose leaf pickup, brush chipping, trimming and removal of city-owned trees,  and assistance with a wide variety of community activities.    Construction projects, such as the installation of utilities and streets for the United Solar Plants in the City’s Northern Industrial Park, and the new trail for Camp Wah-Wah-Tay-See, are also carried out by DPS Staff.

The DPS Staff is made up of seventeen (17) full time employees, and one part-time employee, and includes mechanics, maintenance workers, drinking water distribution system operators, and Supervisors.

Normal office hours for the department are Monday – Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 PM.  An on-duty person is available after hours, weekends, and holidays to respond to emergencies.  Contact the Montcalm County Central Dispatch at (616) 285-8500, ext. 1 if you need after hours services.
